Abruzzo - Abruzzo National Park

It is the oldest national park in Italy, the result of the work and passion of scholars and ethologists who noted the uniqueness of the flora and fauna of the Marsica area. It is recognized institutionally in 1923 and will be expanded over the years, to understand the current territory, divided between the regions of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise. Its nerve center is Pescasseroli.

It is a park of great importance because here are preserved and studied many protected species both animals and plants, the symbol of the park is the Apennine wolf, but you can also easily sight the lynx, the Camoscio d'Abruzzo, the deer and the roe deer and sometimes the Marsican brown bear. Among the birds, also very widespread in the park (there are over 230 species) stands the majestic golden eagle, which on these heights comes to lay eggs.

The national park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise is a treasure trove of breathtaking landscapes that include rare species of flora and glimpses that enchant the observer, renewing the wonder at every glance. Here nature shows its beauty in every season and you can fully enjoy it all year round: from spring when all the wonder opens up and the animals come out of hibernation with their little ones, to the cool and relaxed summer, far from the frenzy, in the warm autumn colors where everything looks like a fresco from another time until winter, where the white snow cover gives a fairytale touch.
